Built to handle serious loads, the Pivot XD supports up to 350 pounds – a substantial 40% increase over the V2's 250 lb capacity. This heavy-duty rating means you can confidently carry multiple bikes, larger cargo boxes, or heavier equipment without worry. But distance matters with the Pivot XD. The farther the weight is from the hitch, the more torque is applied, which limits how much weight or how many bikes can be safely carried. Kuat racks are limited to 3 bikes (maximum 250 lbs), and all other bike racks or cargo systems should follow the distance-to-weight guidelines:
Loads within the 40" limit may exceed some Class III receiver ratings — check your vehicle or hitch manufacturer for exact tongue-weight details.
